In June 2016 the Oxford Partial Knee reached the milestone of turning 40 years old!
Zimmer Biomet commemorated the 40th Anniversary by bringing together 47 global faculty and over 170 delegates from 31 different countries at a Symposium in Oxfordshire, UK, just minutes from the birthplace of the Oxford Partial Knee.
63 presentations were given, revolving around the Oxford Partial Knee. The majority of the presentations had not previously been presented nor published and the agenda was built from abstracts submitted from surgeons across the world. There were over 90 submissions from 68 surgeons!
Seven of these topics were included in a special Oxford Partial Knee 40 Year Supplement (volume 98-B Supplement B October 2016 of The Bone & Joint Journal). This peer-reviewed supplement was delivered to the delegates of the meeting, as well as the subscribers of BJJ.
