Oxford® Partial Knee Achieves 94.7% 10-Year Survival in Young Asian Patient-Cohort

A recent publication from Kim et al.,1 has found that the Oxford PKR achieved satisfactory outcomes in a small cohort (82 knees) of young Asian patients, aged 60 years or younger at the time of surgery. Patient satisfaction was graded according to the WOMAC score; 95% of the patients were satisfied with the outcome of the surgery, with post-operative satisfaction rated as excellent in 65.8% and good in 29.3% of patients. The 10-year cumulative survival rate using KM(Kaplan-Meier) survival method was 94.7% (95% confidence interval: 88.7%–100%).*

Another recent study by Xue et al.,2 looked at survivorship of the Oxford PKR in 652 Asian patients (726 knees; mean age 67.8 ±10.2 years) at up to 12 years follow-up and reported a 94.3% survivorship at 10 years.
